The concept of TWIGA was born from a careful examination of the different functions within the space and the very tight intervention timeline. The challenge was to find a solution that balanced the dichotomybetween the daytime bathroom and the nighttime venue. The inspiration remains African, maintaining the venue’s historic name, but our aim was to modernize that rough and naive image by referencing the elegance of the colonial period, through the presence of inlaid wood, rope, and leather. The space takes on a more luxurious, welcoming, and sophisticated soul, enveloping the customer step by step—from the entrance to the beach, both day and night.
